Tips for a Startup Job

OnStartUps posted a nice article I thought was worth emphasizing, “6 Quick Tips For Landing That Startup Dream Job”.
To paraphrase;
- “Match The [Dress] Culture”: “Dress as if you’re already on the team. Any startup you’d want to work for is not going to hold it against you for not dressing up.”
- “Convey A Passion For Startups”
- Read their content – Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, etc. from the team
- “Join The Conversation”
- “Connect Online” – I agree with this one only in some instances – if a potential candidate tried to “Friend” me on Facebook I’d certainly say no, but Twitter is open territory
- “Emphasize That You ‘Get Stuff Done’”
The main takeaways are: get involved in advance and discuss how you can make them more money.
